New Features in Encore

April, 2009: We now have a new version of Encore. Below are the new features that have been added.

Log In
Click on "login" at the top right corner. Here are some things you can do while logged in:

• You don't have to put in your library card number and PIN each time you click "request."
• You can click on "my account" in Encore to be taken directly to the "my account" screen you're already familiar with (which opens in a new tab or a new window, depending on your web browser software).
• Alerts like "materials on hold shelf" or "materials due tomorrow" appear at the top of the screen.

Don't forget to log off when you're done if you're using a shared computer.

Refine by Location
"Location" has been added to the "refine by" column on the right. After you do a search you'll be able to refine it to things like Adult Fiction, Adult Nonfiction, Children's Department, Local History Room, and Magazine Room.

Request Items That Are On Order or In Processing
You couldn't do this in the earlier version of Encore.

ISBN Search
You are now able to search Encore by ISBN (International Standard Book Number).

Changes in "Popular Choices"
At the top of the right-hand column you used to see cover art for "Popular Choices." Now you'll see these suggestions further down the same column, without the cover art (the covers caused problems in some cases). You can click on one of these titles to see its full listing.
