SearchOhio gives you easy access to over seven million items from six other library systems: Cuyahoga County, Greene County, Toledo-Lucas County, Warren-Trumbull County, Westerville, and Youngstown-Mahoning County. Unlike traditional interlibrary loans, you place your requests online and the requests will be transmitted automatically to the other library. You can get books, DVD's, CD's, and more through SearchOhio.

How Do I Use SearchOhio?
There are two ways to search the SearchOhio catalog. You can search it directly here:

You can also do a search in Cuyahoga Falls Library catalog and then click on the SearchOhio icon at the right; this will do the same search in the SearchOhio catalog.

To request an item in SearchOhio:

  1. Find the title you want in SearchOhio and click on it.
  2. Click on "request this title," which is below the title, author, and publisher information.
  3. You will be asked to choose your library; choose "Cuyahoga Falls Lib."
  4. Type in your name and library card number and then click "submit."
  5. Look at the next screen to see if your request was accepted.

What Happens When a Title I Requested Comes In?
Titles you request in SearchOhio will be ready for you to pick up in 3 - 7 days. You will be notified that's its ready to pick up in the same way you are notified for other library reserves, either by phone or by e-mail. After we contact you, you can pick up your SearchOhio items on the self-serve reserve shelves where you pick up your other reserves. At this point, SearchOhio items cannot be checked out on the self-check machines--you must check them out at the circulation desk.

What are the Checkout Period and the Fines?
The checkout period for SearchOhio items is 7 days for DVD's and videos, and 21 days for everything else (books, CD's, books on tape, books on CD, etc.). The fines are 50 cents per day for DVD's and videos and 5 cents per day for everything else.

Is it Important for the Library to Have My E-Mail Address?
Yes! If an item you request cannot be found at the library that owns it, your request could be cancelled. The only way the system can notify you of a cancellation is by e-mail.

Who Can Place SearchOhio Requests?
Anyone who has a Cuyahoga Falls Library card in good standing can place SearchOhio requests, except for Teacher Loan cards.

Can People from Other Libraries Get Falls Library Items through SearchOhio?
Yes, but there are some restrictions:

Does SearchOhio Take the Place of Interlibrary Loan?
If you cannot find a title you want in SearchOhio, you can still go to the reference desk and request it through interlibrary loan. However, we ask that you check SearchOhio first.
