There's a rip in time and space, a hell portal that seems to be spewing dark forces and creatures down upon Sunnydale. With Giles injured, and out of town, it's all too much for Buffy to handle. This means a trip to Boston, to the mansion of the ailing Gatekeeper who, in his house, holds all the world's worst horrors.

The Burning
It's summertime in Sunnydale, and Salma de la Navidad, a friend of Willow's, needs help. She and her family immigrated to America, and now her brother has disappeared and she fears that in an attempt to gain social acceptance, has stumbled into supernatural gang warfare. To make matters worse, an unknown creature has been doing a little night stalking, a creature that hails from L.A., Angel's turf. Meanwhile, in the City of Angels, Cordelia stumbles upon a vampire-worshiping cult of runaways and Angel investigates an invisible presence wreaking havoc in the local prisons.
Door to alternity
In Los Angeles, Angel and Buffy compare notes and realize that both are dealing with cases of missing teenagers, most all of them children of the rich and powerful. Coincidence? Don't think so. When Buffy checks in with Giles, she finds that doomsday has hit Sunnydale, taking precedence over the gang warfare in L.A.
Back at home, Buffy finds the doorway through which the monsters are gaining access to our universe. Renegade scientists have discovered how to open the portals from one reality to the next, which could explain where the teens are hidden. With the lives of the kidnapped teens and one dangerously talented young woman at stake, Buffy and Angel team up to go to battle in the uncharted dimension.
The Long Way Home
In L.A., gang violence is at a fever pitch. The Slayerettes are holding down the fort, waiting for Buffy and Angel's return. But the Slayer and the Vampire are caught wondering if a reality exists where their love could have survived. And when one of the duo's charges is suddenly killed, the portal to Sunnydale is sealed. Now, they've got to find a way to get back home. Buffy and Angel find themselves trapped in a frightening reality where dragons and other fairy-tale monstrosities rule. Little do they know that two unlikely allies have also come through to alternity: Spike and Faith, both with their own respective MO's.
